Salome T. Victoriano-Mader is a remarkable educator, philanthropist, community leader, and advocate whose life reflects a profound commitment to service. Through her generosity, leadership, and unwavering belief in the transformative power of education, she has touched the lives of many Filipinos, particularly children and families in underserved communities.
Her journey of service began with her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from St. Anthony’s College in San Jose, Antique, Philippines. During her college years, Salome witnessed the challenges faced by children in remote communities who lacked access to quality education and adequate learning resources. These experiences inspired her to pursue a lifelong mission of helping create better opportunities for the next generation.
TURNING A PASSION FOR EDUCATION INTO ACTION
For Salome, education is more than classroom learning it is a pathway toward dignity, opportunity, and a better future. Her philanthropic efforts have focused on supporting schools and children in remote and underserved areas of the Philippines.
She has provided school supplies to 10 schools and has contributed to initiatives involving the development of classrooms and libraries in communities where educational resources are limited. Through these efforts, she has helped provide children with essential tools for learning while encouraging them to dream beyond the limitations of their circumstances.
Her work demonstrates that meaningful change can begin with something as simple as a book, a classroom, or an opportunity to learn.
A LEADER BEYOND BORDERS
Salome's commitment to service extends beyond the Philippines. Since 2009, she has been an active member and board council member of organizations including the Royal Commonwealth Society, St. George’s Society, and Arts and Letters Club in Toronto, Canada.
Through her involvement, she has supported initiatives that promote cultural understanding, community development, education, and the arts. Her leadership reflects the strength of the Filipino spirit one that continues to serve, contribute, and build bridges wherever Filipinos call home.
SERVICE IN TIMES OF CRISIS
Salome's dedication to helping others was also evident during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. While working in the pharmacy department in Toronto, Canada, she served on the frontlines of healthcare delivery.
She assisted with patient vaccinations and helped streamline prescription processing during a period of unprecedented pressure on healthcare workers. Her professionalism, compassion, and willingness to serve demonstrated that true leadership is measured not only by achievement, but also by one's willingness to stand with others during difficult times.
PROMOTING FILIPINO CULTURE AND COMMUNITY
As a respected member of the Filipino-Canadian community, Salome has also taken an active role in promoting Filipino heritage and strengthening community connections.
Her service as a board council leader of the Philippine Independence Day Council (PIDC) reflects her commitment to preserving Filipino culture and helping build a stronger and more united Filipino-Canadian community.
Through leadership, cultural advocacy, and community participation, she continues to demonstrate that serving one's community is a responsibility and a privilege.
