Dr. Lilia B. Bernales, RM, is a dedicated healthcare professional, entrepreneur, and community leader whose career has been defined by compassion, service, and a steadfast commitment to maternal and infant healthcare. With more than two decades of professional experience, she has devoted much of her life to caring for mothers, newborns, and families while continuously pursuing education, professional advancement, and personal growth.
Her journey in healthcare began in 1992 when she pursued Midwifery at Iligan Capitol College. It was during this period that she developed a deep passion for maternal care and discovered her calling to serve women and newborns. Determined to strengthen her professional knowledge and capabilities, she later earned her Bachelor of Science in Midwifery from Tomas Claudio Colleges in 2016.
Since 2001, Dr. Bernales has been serving at Novaliches District Hospital, where she currently holds the position of Midwife II. Throughout her years of dedicated public healthcare service, she has demonstrated professionalism, compassion, and commitment in providing quality care to mothers and infants. Her contributions and dedication to her profession have also been recognized through various awards and distinctions, including being honored as an Outstanding Legacy Crown Excellence Awardee.
Beyond her hospital responsibilities, Dr. Bernales has pursued entrepreneurship in healthcare through the establishment of Bongo Bernales Lying-In Clinic, with branches in Caloocan City. Through her healthcare facilities, she has worked to make professional and compassionate maternity services more accessible to mothers and families. Her achievements in healthcare entrepreneurship and community service have received recognition through prestigious distinctions, including the Asia’s Golden Legacy Awards, Global Leadership and Achievers Awards, and the Netizens Choice Award, presented at Okada Manila in 2024.
A strong believer in lifelong learning, Dr. Bernales has continuously expanded her knowledge beyond the healthcare profession. She pursued studies in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing at Coventry House University of Asia Pacific, strengthening her understanding of business leadership, entrepreneurship, and organizational development. She also earned a Doctor of Business Administration from Coventry University Asia Pacific, Texas, USA, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration, major in Business Management. Her academic achievements reflect her determination to continually develop her capabilities and integrate healthcare expertise with entrepreneurial and leadership skills.
Her commitment to service extends beyond her professional and business endeavors. As an International Club Officer of Legacy Crown Clubs International, Dr. Bernales has participated in humanitarian and community-development initiatives centered on compassion, service, and social responsibility.
